One Important Thing To Do For Yourself Today
I'm seeing the posts and hearing the grumblings. Women, especially, are unhappy with their bodies.
It's been a summer of sangria, barbecue, and brownies. The pounds crept on while the commitment we made to stay active wore off.
It happens to the best of us.
We're steeped in marketing for fast and processed and a culture that makes ice cream and fried clams a rite of every summer weekend.
There are ways to get around this and still have lots to enjoy but I want to focus on the right now.
The voices in your head telling you that you suck, you have no willpower, and now you're a blob.
The voices that talk in numbers- how many pounds you have to lose to fit into your jeans again.
The voices that distract you from real living and keep you focused on the weight you DON'T WANT.
Those voices gotta go.
The more we focus on what we don't want, the more our energy is going to go there. INSTEAD, we have to focus on what we DO want.
What does losing the extra weight mean for you?
Sure, you'll fit into your favorite jeans, but WHAT ELSE?
Do you want more energy?
Do you want to feel good all year and not get sick time and again?
Do you want to feel content with your life?
If yes, then THAT is where your focus goes. And to make it even more real you imagine you already have it.
I HAVE LOTS OF ENERGY
MY IMMUNE SYSTEM IS STRONG
I AM SATISFIED WITH MY LIFE AND I AM JUST WHERE I SHOULD BE TODAY
Look into the mirror today and make what you DO want your focus. Tell yourself you have what you want. Be specific.
Repeat it again when you wake in the morning.
Continue to repeat throughout this week, and see how this changes the way you do things.
It's a start but it's an important start and it has to happen before any sustainable change can happen.
